P.S. Saint-Domingue was this city first name before change to Santo Domingo.

Santo Domingo is the most ancient city in America! The first city in the New World, were Cristóvão Colombo arrived and constructed the Fortaleza de la navidad.

In this city was created the first cathedral, the first hospital and the First University of America!



The neighborhood - Cidade Colonial de Santo Domingo - is an historical neighborhood in Santo Domingo, declared UNESCO worl heritage in 1990 (When I was born!) - I haven't went there yet, but it is on the to do list - probably in Christmas break ;)
